President Obama’s Statements on Sandy Hook Tragedy

Many pro-lifers have pointed out that Obama’s emotional speech after the Sandy Hook shootings seemed to reflect eerily on the pro-life cause. LifeSiteNews noticed this, and put together a video with the best parts of Obama’s speech, pointing out how they provide a compelling description of the importance of the pro-life cause.

“The majority of those who died today were children — beautiful, little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old. They had their entire lives ahead of them — birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own. “

“This is our first task, caring for our children. It’s our first job. If we don’t get that right, we don’t get anything right. That’s how, as a society, we will be judged. And by that measure, can we truly say, as a nation, that we’re meeting our obligations?”

“We’re not doing enough,” the president said. “And we will have to change.”

“We can’t tolerate this anymore,” he added. “These tragedies must end, and to end them, we must change. We will be told that the causes of such violence are complex, and it is true. No single law, no set of laws can eliminate evil from the world or prevent every senseless act of violence in our society. But that can’t be an excuse for inaction. Surely we can do better than this.”

“We can’t accept events like this as routine,” he said. “Are we really prepared to say that we’re powerless in the face of such carnage? That the politics are too hard? Are we prepared to say that the violence visited on our children year after year after year is somehow the price of our freedom?”

As the president said: “If there’s even one step we can take to save a child, then surely we have an obligation to try.”

Taking the President on his own terms, if he believes we need the understanding of children in regard to gun violence, I challenge him to talk to them about abortion, also, and let’s follow their recommendations there as well.

Please, Mr. President, sit down with these children you believe have enough understanding to settle moral matters and tell them what abortion is. Please be honest, sir; tell them you are a staunch supporter of abortion so that they can rightly weigh your claims to be the protector of children…

Mr. President, tell the children about the curette that severs limbs so that babies can be vacuumed out of wombs. Tell them about saline injections and punctured skulls and brains that are vacuumed out. Tell them the gory details and let them speak to us about their feelings. Mr. President, do you think the children you surrounded yourself with would want only some of the children of our country to be protected? Do you think they would make a close distinction between a man with a gun and a doctor with a scalpel and a vacuum cleaner?
