Would You Consider Abortion?

 1. There is a preacher and wife who are very, very poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she is pregnant with her 15th. They are living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending abortion?

2. The father is sick with sniffles, the mother has TB. They have 4 children. The first is blind, the second is dead. The third is deaf and the fourth has TB. The mother finds she is pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you recommend abortion?

Pregnant Texas teen files suit against parents in abortion feud

A pregnant Texas 16-year-old has gone to court to avoid having an abortion against her will, according to court documents.” We were asking the judge to stop them physically forcing her to have an abortion,” the plaintiff’s attorney Stephen Casey told Click2Houston.com. “They cannot drag her to get an abortion, force an abortion on our client.”

The pregnant young woman has lived with her grandparents for the past seven months, the court document states, and is nine weeks pregnant.

Adoption Stories

The National Council for Adoption has launched a web campaign called iChooseAdoption.org. The heart of the campaign is a series of short YouTube videos featuring birth mothers telling their stories of placing their children for adoption.

To say they are “real” seems too flippant. But they are real: happiness, pain, joy, shame, certitude (or lack thereof), and everything else a birth mother experiences is revealed in the stories of these women.

Religion & Abortion

“Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.” —Job 4:8

“Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.  Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
–Psalm 82:3-4

“You formed my most inner being; you knit me in my mother’s womb.  I praise you, so wonderfully you made me; wonderful are your works!”
–Psalm 139:13-14

Legalized abortion has snuffed out more than 50 million lives since Roe v. WadeKilling the unborn has disturbed our human nature and perverted it (Deuteronomy 32:5; Romans 7:23).

Harvesting & Selling Aborted Baby Parts

Aborted babies are being chopped up and sold from abortion clinics every day. Some of these infants are still alive when the technicians (middlemen) step in for the “harvesting” of organs. They literally have to kill the baby a second time. These tiny babies’ body parts end up in Research and Development Labs which are funded by large corporations. The babies’ uses include research, experimentation and product development. Ethics and Medics reports, “The predominant industries engaged in fetal tissue research are components of the emerging life science industry: the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and biologics sectors. The pharmaceutical industry is involved in the discovery, development, production, and marketing of drugs licensed as medications.”

American researchers have engaged in fetal tissue research since the 1930’s. In an article published by the Christian Research Institute Journal in 1992, Scott B. Rae, Professor of Christian Ethics at Talbot School of Theology in Los Angeles, observes: “Abortion clinics stand to reap a substantial increase in revenue simply from the small amount (on average $25 per organ, multiplied by the hundreds of thousands of abortions performed annually) that the nonprofit acquisition organizations offer.”

How Abortion Mills Dispose of the Remains of Aborted Babies

There are two common methods of disposing of the bodies of first-trimester aborted babies: Flushing them down a garbage disposal or “Insinkerator” or disposing of them as biological waste in special plastic bags. Larger aborted babies are frequently sold for research purposes.

Pro-abortionists do not want the remains of aborted babies (especially late-term aborted babies) to fall into the hands of pro-life activists who then can reveal the bloody reality of abortion to the world. In Wichita, Kansas, and other cities, pro-lifers have discovered aborted preborn babies as large as six pounds (full-term) being burned as garbage along with dead dogs, cats, and birds thrown out by local Humane Society offices. Some abortionists have even used meat grinders and garbage disposals to dispose of the bodies of aborted preborn babies.

Quotes

“By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems.  And, by abortion, the father is told that he does not have any responsibility for the child he has brought into the world.  That father is likely to put other women into the same trouble.  So abortion leads to more abortion.  Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want.  This is why the greatest destroyer of love is abortion.”
–Mother Teresa of Calcutta, National Prayer Breakfast (February 3, 1994)

Abortion Statistics

January 22, 2013 marked 40 years since Roe v. Wade legalized abortion on the federal level and roughly 54.5 million human lives have been lost.

More Americans have died because of abortion than have died in the Civil War, both World Wars, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Persian Gulf War and the current war in Iraq combined.

More babies are killed each day in America than the total number of people killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

There are as many abortion deaths each year as there are deaths caused by heart disease and cancer combined.

Inhumane Partial Birth Abortion, a Lucrative Racket

By J. C. Willke, MD

After fighting abortion for 30 years I thought I had seen and heard it all, but not so. Here is a new development, a coordinated high-tech industry functioning for the specific purpose of obtaining and selling high-quality fetal organs for research.

March – 2013

Paraphrasing one of America’s founding documents: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all human beings are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among which is the right to life…”

Abortion is an issue most Americans don’t think about, only knowing whether they lean pro-choice or pro-life, or perhaps somewhere in the middle.  It is a hotly political argument, and one that is usually avoided.  Regarding abortion itself,  they usually feel it has no direct impact on them or their life.

Reducing Abortion through Sonograms

Ultrasounds are the single easiest way to prevent abortion. An article from the New England Journal of Medicine which reports that “when ten pregnant women came to an abortion clinic and were shown ultrasound pictures of the fetus before the abortion, only one went through with the abortion. Nine left the clinic pregnant.” The same thing which makes ultrasound images so remarkable is the thing that makes abortion so dreadful. It’s fairly easy to defend abortion in the abstract, but when you see the tiny bodies up close and realize the violence abortion does to them, the conclusion is fairly obvious. Abortion is a grisly business.

Reducing Abortion through Education & Pregnancy Support

Pennsylvania’s first-in-the-nation Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program has served over 211,036 women the last 17 years. Started in 1996 to offer women counseling and mentoring support as an alternative to abortion, the statewide Program has provided over 1 million support service visits to women throughout Pennsylvania.

Real Alternatives is the statewide administrator for the Program. Kevin Bagatta, President & CEO of Real Alternatives said, “It has been so gratifying over these years that so many women who were alone and facing a crisis pregnancy had another person to assist them and empower them to overcome obstacles and pressures so they could choose life for their preborn baby.” Real Alternatives uses 93 pregnancy support centers, Catholic Charities, and maternity homes, and their over 500 caring and compassionate trained counselors to provide free pregnancy support and parenting education services to women the our state.

The Shrinking Generation & the Roe Effect

Abortion also has contributed to population decline and demographic changes. The U.S. birth rate has dropped to the lowest level since national data has been available. In 2002 the birth rate fell to 13.9 per 1,000 – down 17 percent since 1990. This results in a demographic shift to an older population known as “population aging” where the share of the population of working age shrinks and the labor force grows older. This demographic phenomenon will have negative effects on the economy, especially as workers reach retirement age leaving fewer people engaged in productive work.

The Impact on Social Security

Since Roe vs. Wade legalized abortion, creating an abortion industry, we’ve seen 45 million unborn babies aborted in this country.

An estimated 17 million of them would be contributing to the economy today, paying taxes, and paying into Social Security; but they will not be there.

In 2025, when Social Security is projected to be in real trouble, I wonder if anyone will stop to think about the missing persons who might have averted it? They alone could not make up the entire shortfall, but they would’ve helped immensely.

Why Abortion in America is a Social Problem

What Do 40 Million Lost Lives Mean?

The simple response to the abortion advocates’ case is that most children inevitably grow into adults. They work and pay taxes, or otherwise spend, save, invest, and innovate. Economists attest that even before these children reach adulthood, their very be-longing to a large and growing population spurs economic growth. The following four points give an overview of why abortion does not help, and in fact may be hurting, the U.S. economy.
